The best thing that you can do to trap other players is to attract them by dropping the loot on the ground and hide. Make sure to drop guns, ammo and health items together so the enemy can spot them from a distance. You can also set a trap in a house and drop the items in it in a way that can be seen by the window of the house.
This way, when the player will see the loot, he will run towards it without even thinking that it might be a bait. And when he comes under the trap you have set, he will die.
Through Supply Drop:
Another tactic to bait players is to take help from the supply drop. You can do two things here, either run towards the supply drop and get the loot and then hide nearby. You can then kill the players who come towards it in hopes of getting the loot. But, this is a bit risky as you may get killed if you try to quickly get the loot as soon as it lands. So the more subtle approach will be to wait for other players to come and take the loot. And when you see someone, you can just shoot them. You can do this until there are no other players left around and then you can go ahead and get the loot.
Through Teammates:
This is more about you getting killed while getting the loot. Mostly what many players do is that they kill a player and then quickly run towards it to grab the loot. Now, this may work in solo mod but you need to be careful in the duo or squad mode. This is because you may become the victim of revenge. If you have killed a player in duo or squad, the chances are that his teammate(s) may be nearby.
So if you quickly go for the loot, you may encounter one of his friends and they may kill you while you are getting the loot. Therefore, what you need to do is to wait for a while after you have knocked down a player in duo or squad mode and if you see no one coming, kill them and grab the loot.
Don’t Fall For the Same:
One thing that you need to keep in mind is to not fall for the same thing as well. Players can get greedy and forget that a decent amount of loot lying in the open can be a trick. Similarly, if you see your friend getting down but not getting killed, you should assume that there is something fishy about it and most of the time it is. So always proceed with caution.
