If you want to use a new SIM in your Verizon phone, you'll have to activate it first. After that you can use it with your phone. To do this you have to make a call to Verizon Wireless Customer Service. Here’s how to activate a new SIM on Verizon.
Steps: 1. At first, write down/note down your SIM card serial number, phone number, IMEI number, etc.; you will find the SIM card number on the backside of your SIM card. Or you may get them in the receipt of your SIM card purchase.
2. Open the back cover of your phone.
3. Insert the SIM card in the specific slot on your device. You may need to remove the battery to find the slot.
4. Place the battery back and close the back cover.
5. Switch on the cell phone by pressing the power button.
6. If your phone is ready then dial “(877) 807-4646” from the dial pad. If you are a Business customer then you should call “(800) 922-0204” to activate your SIM. It will connect you to the customer service of Verizon Wireless.
7. You can make the call from any other phone if you want.
8. Follow the recorded voice commands. After that you will be connected to a real person.
9. Tell him/her that you need to activate a SIM. Then he/she will ask you the information that you wrote down earlier. Provide the information after a few seconds your SIM will be activated.
10. After the completion of the activation process, terminate the call.
