How to Add Multiple Accounts to the Official Twitter App

If you have multiple Twitter accounts, you can switch between (and post from) multiple feeds in the official app.

Step 1: Start by downloading the Official Twitter App on your smartphone or tablet. If you don't already have an account, you'll need to create one. If you have an existing account, sign in.

Step 2: Within the app, you should see several tabs at the bottom of the screen – a birdhouse (timelines), a bell (notifications), a letter (messages), and a headshot icon (me). Click on “Me” so that you can view your Twitter profile. This is where you can edit your profile and settings, as well as preview how your profile looks to the public.

Step 3: At the top of the screen, you'll see your cover photo. Just below that, you'll see an icon that displays two heads (next to the “Edit Profile” option). Touch that icon to open all your Twitter accounts. At the top, you should see the Twitter profile you were currently viewing. Under that, you will see a + sign.

Step 4: Tap the plus sign to allow you to add additional accounts. Upon tapping the plus, you'll see three options – create new account, add an existing account, and cancel. If you already have an alternate Twitter account, you can add it by selecting the “Add an existing account” option. If you would like to create an additional account, select for that option and follow the steps.

Step 5: Next, you'll need to sign in with your username and password. You will be logged in to two Twitter accounts simultaneously so that you can toggle between them without signing out.

Recap: Adding another account just takes a few minutes once you’ve installed the Twitter app. Once you have added your account, you can switch in the future just by pressing one button. You will receive notifications for all the accounts within the same app.
