How to Change the Name of Your Amazon Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV is a popular streaming media player that connects to your TV’s HDMI port and lets you enjoy your favorite TV shows, games, music and subscription services on the go. Amazon Fire TV can be purchased in three models: the Fire TV Box, Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube. Each of these has different features and is apt for different kinds of setup.

Amazon Fire TV comes with a default name from the company which can be changed at any time to avoid confusion between multiple devices. If you are someone who likes to keep things simple and organized, here is how you can change the name of your Amazon Fire TV to enjoy hassle free navigation and usage.

On the Web
Step 1. Open 'Amazon Website'
Go to https/www.amazon.com/ and open Amazon website on your web browser. Once on the page, login to your Amazon account, using your 'User Id' and 'Password'.

Step 2. Click on ‘Account and Lists’
Go to the 'Account and Lists' drop down menu on the top right of the page. In this drop down menu, look for ‘Your Content and Devices’ option under ‘Your Account’ and click on it.

Step 3. Choose ‘Devices’
Once on the page choose the ‘Devices’ tab. Here you should see the devices connected to your account.

Step 4. Choose ‘Amazon Fire TV’
Click on the Fire TV/Device that you want to rename/if not already selected. Once your preference is selected, you can see its name below it along with a small ‘Edit’ Option.

Step 5. Click on ‘Edit’
Click on the 'Edit' option and you will receive a pop up to type the new name of your Amazon Fire TV. After typing the new name, click on ‘Save’ and you should see a message on your TV saying that you have successfully changed the name of your Amazon Fire TV.

On the 'Phone'
Step 1. Open the 'Amazon App'
Open the Amazon app on your phone and login to it. Once you are logged in, click on the Hamburger Button 3 lines) on the left top corner of the screen.

Step 2. Choose ‘Your Account’
On clicking on the Hamburger Button, you will see a drop down, where you have to choose the option ‘Your Account’.

Step 3. Click on ‘Content and Devices’
When you click on ‘Your Account’, you will be directed to another menu, in which you will find the option ‘Content and Devices’: click on it.

Step 4. Tap on ‘Devices’
On the new page, choose the tab ‘Devices’.

Step 5. Click on ‘Edit’.
On the ‘Devices Tab’, you will see all the Fire TVs/Devices attached to your account. Choose the Fire TV you want to rename, if not already selected and you will instantly see an ‘Edit’ option next to it. Click on the Edit option and you will get a pop up where you can type the new name. Once, you are done, choose save and you should see message on your phone screen saying that you have successfully saying that you have successfully changed the name of your Amazon Fire TV.
