How to Change the Visibility of a LinkedIn Profile

While using LinkedIn, there may be times - like when looking for a job - that you don't want others to see changes you make to your profile. To respect your privacy, LinkedIn allows you to hide your public profile from everyone without removing any content or deleting your entire profile altogether.

With the ability to hide your public profile, you can make appropriate adjustments while remaining hidden from profile visitors. Once you are done with the editing, or when you are ready, you can make your public profile visible to everyone.

Changing the visibility of your LinkedIn profile just the matter of a few clicks. Here is how:

■Log on to your computer system.
■Open your favorite web browser. (E.g. Google chrome in this demonstration)
■Type in the address bar, and press Enter to open the website.
■On the Sign In window, provide your login credentials in the appropriate fields, and click the Sign In button.

■On the Home Page that comes up, click the Profile menu from the menu bar.
■From the opened page, click the Edit Profile button from the top section.

■Once this is done, click the Edit link below the Done editing button.

■On the Public Profile interface, under the Customize Your Public Profile section in the right pane, click to select the Make my profile visible to no one button to change the visibility of your profile.

■Once you're done, click the Go back to Home Page link at the top-right corner to go to back to your profile Home page.
