How to Force Close iPhone Apps

If you ever run into a problem with an app on your iPhone, you can force it close and re-open it later. From time to time, there may be a problem with a certain app. It may freeze up on you and become unresponsive, but there is a way to close it. Step 1: When you recognize an unresponsive or frozen app, press your Home button two times quickly.

Step 2: Your iPhone will display all of the apps that you have recently used. Swipe to the left to find the app that is unresponsive.

Step 3: Once you find the app you want, swipe it up to close it. This forces the application to quit.

That’s it. You can then go back and open the app again later. Most of the time, there is no reason to force close an app unless it freezes or becomes unresponsive. You will know that the app is unresponsive when your touch screen capabilities falter. Follow the steps above and your problem is solved.

This procedure will work not only on an iPhone, but also on an iPad or iPod Touch. You can force close multiple applications at the same time, if necessary. Follow steps 1 and 2 above first. Using three fingers, place each one on an app and then swipe up. This will close all three apps at the same time.
