If you got the device directly from Amazon, then it will already be registered to you and your Amazon.com account. If you bought it elsewhere—or if you just want to make sure it is registered to you—continue to step 3.

Step 3
Once you have connected your Amazon Fire TV to the internet, head to the Home screen. From there, select “Settings,” and then choose “My Account.” Here, you will be able to see if there is an Amazon.com account currently registered to your Fire TV

Step 4
If there is no account, select “Register” and follow the onscreen instructions to enter your login information and connect your account and your device.

Recap
Your Amazon Fire TV should now be linked with your Amazon.com account, which should give you access to free streaming content via Amazon Prime, as well as to Amazon.com movie and TV show downloads or rentals.
