How to Sideload Apps in Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV gives you access to various applications from the Amazon’s Appstore but did you know that you can also sideload applications from other platforms. Yes, it’s true. You can sideload as many android apps as you want for your TV.

Most of the apps from Android are designed for the phone and therefore, do not have the necessary codes to work on your Fire TV but there are a few good applications that have been built in consideration of Fire TV and Android TV and you can sideload them to enjoy. If you are someone who loves variety and would like to sideload some new applications in your Amazon Fire TV, follow the steps mentioned below.
Before you can start downloading the applications, you will have to enable third party downloads in Fire TV though. So, let’s start by doing that.

Enable 'Third-Party Applications' in Settings
Step 1. Click on the ‘Settings’ tab
On your Fire TV home page, navigate to the ‘Settings’ tab. This will show you the options inside this tab.

Step 2. Choose ‘Devices’
In the ‘Settings’ option, you have to go to ‘Devices’ and choose it. This step will further open a few options.

Step 3. Click on ‘Developer Options’
Choose developer options and in it, ‘Toggle On’ the option that says ‘Apps from Unknown Sources’

Step 4. Click on ‘Apps from Unknown Sources’
Click on to activate ‘Apps from Unknown Sources’. This will give you permission to sideload applications from Android store.

Step 4. Open ‘Downloader’
Now, you have to go to the ’Downloader’ app and click on it to open.

Step 5. Enter the Name of the App you Want to Download.
Once the downloader open, enter the name of the app you want to download, for example Kodi. Press ‘Go’. This will start the download process. Once the app is downloaded, click on Install. After installation is complete, you should be able to see the app on your home screen.

Step 6. Install the 'App'
Once the app is downloaded, click on 'Install'.

Step 7. Check the 'App' on Home Screen
After installation is complete, you should be able to see the app on your home screen.
