Walkthrough:
This is the first quest of Elder’s Recess that is about slaying more than one monster. But unlike most of these quests where it is relatively easy to hunt down multiple monsters, this one is going to be a bit of a pain. This is because the monsters that you are about to face are very annoying who like to charge towards the enemy and that can make you lose your balance. So you will have to give more effort and time to this quest. The objective of the quest is simple; you need to slay 13 monsters named Gastodon. If you complete the objective by slaying them all in time you will get a decent reward of 5400z. The window of time that you will have to complete the quest will be 50 minutes which is adequate for this quest. If you do not complete the quest in this time, you will fail the quest. You will also fail the quest if you faint three times during it. The hunter rank that you need for this quest is 13 or higher. So with everything out of the way, let’s start the quest:
- There is no denying to the fact the title of most annoying monsters in the game goes to the Gastodons. This is because they are small and gather in packs, meaning you will be fighting more than one of them. And not just that, they like to charge towards the enemy with their bony heads as the battering ram. There are no docile females in their packs and they all charge with impunity that can knock your down repeatedly so you should watch out when they charge.
- You will find these annoying little creatures in the AREAS 11, 7 and 5 and some of these areas are very hot so you should drink cool drinks to reduce the heat damage while you are hunting in those areas.
- So when you are faced with the Gastodons, you need to use the ranged attacks on them. This is because maintaining a distance will give you enough time to dodge their charges.
- And even if you must use the melee, you need to then circle around them and then watch them charge, wait for the opportunity to attack and after one of them finishes a charge and the fellows are not likely to hit you then perform melee attacks.
So use the information and tactics mentioned above to fight the Gastodon and kill all 13 of them to complete the quest. Once you complete it, you will be rewarded with the decent amount of 5400z.
