The Barroth is a very frightening monster in the sense that it is made of stone and has a big size. But if you know all the necessary things about this monster, you will be able to take it easily. So refer to the guide below:
General Information:
You will first come across Barroth in the assignment “The Best Kind of Quest” where you are conducting a simple escort but this monster appears and it turns into a fight. Other than this quest, you will fight Barroth in four more quests that are; Mired in the Spire, Landing the Landslide Wyvern, A Crown of Mud and Anger and Showdown: The Muck and the Maul. But besides these quests where it appears as the main monster, it will make appearances in different other quests as well. The Barroth is a Brute Wyvern and has Low Rank, High Rank and Tempered Threat Level 1 variants.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
When it comes to the strengths of Barroth, this monster is only strong against the Poison and Paralysis and somewhat strong against the Stun elements. But if we talk about the weaknesses, then it is very weak against the Sleep element and moderately weak against the Blast element. When it comes to Ailments, Barroth is not strong against any of them and is highly weak against the Poison, Paralysis, and Blast ailments and moderately weak against the Sleep and Stun ailments. The weak spots of Barroth include its Limbs and tail while the limbs are more receptive to the damage. Furthermore, its head, legs, and arms are breakable while its tail is severable.
Preparation:
When you are preparing for the fight, the first thing that you should do is to have a good meal. Secondly, you should bring a water element weapon as this will strip the Barroth from its mud coating that serves as the barrier to your attacks. You can bring the water moss on your way so you can deal water damage with your slinger. The Barroth can also make some attacks that can hinder your stamina so make sure to bring some Nulberries as well.
Attacks:
There is no doubt that the Barroth is the mighty armored monster that appears to be made of the stone and its thick hide can further be enhanced when it rolls in the mud as it will deflect most of your attacks. You don’t have to worry about it rolling in mud in the sandy areas but the danger lies in swamps. Barroth may appear slow at first but it is quite agile in close quarter combats. It is also very aggressive so you can expect attacks relentlessly. Its common attacks include pounding the head in the ground, swiping the head (Sometimes with charge), side checking on its flank, thrashing enemies with its tail, and performing a heavy bull-rush. Also, it sometimes can expel mud that will hinder your stamina upon contact.
This is all that you need to know about the Barroth so you can prepare for the fight beforehand and defeat it without seeing much trouble.
