Preparation:
As always, your first priority should be to eat a good meal before fighting this monster. And although this monster rarely flies, packing one or two Flash Pods will be a good idea. And besides these, make sure to get a Fire or Thunder element weapon and take some Sleep or Paralysis ailments as well.
Attacks:
The Pukei-Pukei is a monster that spews venom in different ways so it is recommended that you take antidotes with you. It can spit the venom as a three-spit combo or as a single gob. It can also spew a mist of venom. The tail of the Pukei-Pukei also dispenses poison so be careful on its back as well.
Make sure to not attack too frequently as this monster is both agile and fast. In addition to the poisonous attacks, it will also perform charges, lunges, leaping claw attacks and tail swipes. And like the Kulu-Ya-Ku it is a bit flighty but it retains the ability to fly so make sure to get your scoutfly level up before you engage with it as it will come in handy if it flees.
The Low Rank of Pukei-Pukei does not drop any rare items but its High-Rank version drops the Bird Wyvern Gem which is very rare carve or reward. But besides these things, there is not much to note about the Pukei-Pukei as it is a basic monster.
