There are many people in Stardew Valley whom you can meet with and chat but there are very few non-humans which you can actually meet without having them attack you. One of those few characters is the Dwarf.
He is believed to be one of the last dwarves alive in all of Stardew Valley. The dwarf is also related to Krobus. The dwarves and the shadow people have been at war for millions of years therefore Krobus and the Dwarf are not on the best of terms. At first you cannot understand what the dwarf is saying but when you give Gunther five Dwarvish scrolls he will give you a translation guide which you can use to translate what the dwarf is saying. He can also receive gifts and you can increase your friendship level with him.
The Dwarf’s Schedule:
The Dwarf can only be found in one place and that is the mines. He can be found on the right side of the mines and you can first meet him by removing the rock which blocks the entrance to his shop. You will need at least a steel pick axe to break the rock and if you do that you can visit his shop and get some pretty neat stuff. He can be found at his shop all the time and he never leaves even for festivals. Be careful when visiting him though because he is always there and it is easy to forget about the time while shopping so you can end up staying there past 2:00 am and that will cause you to fall unconscious and can cost you a lot of energy the next day.
The Dwarf’s Gift Guide:
There are many gifts that you can give to the dwarf. You can give him Jade, Amethyst, Topaz, Omni Geode, Aquamarine, Ruby, Emerald, Dwarf Scrolls, Dwarf Gadget, Dwarvish Helm and Quartz.
Whatever you do you should not give the Dwarf Daffodil, Winter Root, Common Mushroom, Morel, Holly, Dandelion, Snow Yam, Chanterelle, Purple Mushroom, Hazelnut, Salmonberry, Leek, Wild Horseradish, Milk, Eggs and Cave Carrots.
The Dwarf’s Events:
There are certain events which trigger based on how many friendship points you have with the Dwarf. There is one important event which triggers when you get 50 friendship points with the Dwarf. If you enter the sewers after you hit 50 friendship points you will be treated to a fight between the Dwarf and Krobus. Krobus is fighting with the Dwarf because he blames Krobus for the death of his family and Krobus replies that they were just protecting themselves. They are on the brink of fighting when you intervene but nothing you say will change what they do until the Wizard shows up. He makes them both agree to a Sea of Promise spell which means that they cannot fight anymore and they promise that they will forget about the war fought in the past and will now live and work together.
