Saying that Google has a lot of information on you would be an understatement, at the very least. The company probably has the most info on you than any other site out there. That’s why it’s important to know about their privacy policy and what they do with all that information.
Finding the privacy policy is pretty straightforward as you will see for yourself. Just make sure to read it carefully so you know what you’re dealing with. Anyway, here we go.
■ Open your favorite browser and type www.google.com in the address bar, and press Enter.
■ In the bottom corner of the page, you’ll find the Privacy link. Click it.
■ You’re now at the privacy policy page. Here, you’ll find all the information regarding the information they collect, how do they use it and such. On the left side of the page, you can find links to each section so you maneuver the page more easily. You’ll probably want to start with the Information we collect section, so click the link.
■ In here, the company informs you that they store your personal info (name, email address, phone number and such), the info they collect when using their services, your location and lots of other things.
■ Next scroll to the How we use information we collect section, or just click on the link like you did in step 3.
■ In this section, you can find the information regarding the Google’s use of the info they collect. They inform you that they use the information to give you more relevant search results or ads, among other things.
■ Those are some of the more important things to know but read the whole privacy policy carefully, so you can know exactly what to expect.
