RAM is soldered on new Macbooks, Airs included. You can't upgrade later. Choose right amount when buying.

5Y10 is the slowest and you'd better give it a try somewhere. On the other hand, you'll hardly find a decent portable laptop for $700 a Zenbook costs. Also, they say Win10 pretty fast.

Can you tell me why would you want Macbook and why Macbook Pro. Because I actually have the same dilemma. I'm not sure if current rMB will be good in 3 years, but I'm comparing current rMB to current rMBP w/ 16GB of RAM.
