    5m long hdmi cable fault

    Hello, I am trying to connect my laptop to my Sony Bravia using a 5m long hdmi cable. Getting "out of range" message on the TV. Also getting nothing out of a digital DVD recorder using the same cable. Another shorter cable works fine for both devices. Do I have a cable fault?
