If you backed up the iPod, you should be able to restore it. if you haven't - then there is no possible way to get it back that I know of.

A 15.5", 1080p screen will look clearer than a 17" 1600x900 screen. i don't see what's wrong with a 1080p screen on a laptop. Although, it's all up to personal preference.

I know you have already ordered it, but did you need the laptop for other things like jobs/school/college etc. Anyways - it looks like a pretty powerful laptop. Should be capable of running Battlefield 3 on Ultra on a solid 50-60+ FPS.

Alienware in my opinion is overpriced. I built a computer to the same specs without a case and it was a $700 difference. It means they charge you ~$700 for a case and assembly. In my opinion - I recommend you build your own. You can make it better than Alienware for less money.
