mean upgrading ram to 16 gb doesn't make any difference!!

I read that for Intel HD's(intel hd 520) the ram in your computer is important to help your FPS. I am now using 1 x 8gb DDR4 in my laptop hp EliteBook 840 g3 i5 6300u. Can I upgrade to 2 x 8GB ....everything is set to max performance but I'm wondering if a boost of RAM can help. will it help...
