Toshiba Satellite powers on but doesn't respond

I had a Toshiba Satellite once, the motherboard randomly died on me for no good reason. Haven't bought another one.

    Gaming : Laptop or PC?

I didn't suggest she build her own, I suggested she look for means to choose the parts but still have it built for her. Local PC shops are great for this kind of thing and you can avoid paying for shipping. We can certainly help her with which parts to use without the expectation that she can...

    Gaming : Laptop or PC?

Buying a pre built computer is almost always a waste of money. Consider using an online service or a local computer parts store to build a computer for a fee. This fee will still be alot cheaper than the money burned on a pre built pc. As far as Minecraft goes, you don't need a lot of power and...

    Headphone difference in sound

That doesn't surprise me, I am working on upgrading my motherboard but my socket 1155 i5 still running just fine has held me back. However, as I said my hdr 160s sounded perfect on my pc so I was asking more about the difference between the two. Were the HDR's good enough to make up for the...

    Headphone difference in sound

Hi all, So I'll start by saying I'm a supporter of sennheisser products. I've always been happy with their sound and physical quality and I have been happily using a pair of HDR 160 over ears for a long time with no complaints. However, I recently bought an OCX 686G to use for working out and...

Looking to buy a Laptop in Canada

Now that I'm looking closer I don't think the one I linked is a GTX 840, as it listed as just "NVIDIA GeForce 840M". The Y50's I found are a bit over my budget, but between the 1080p panel and the performance breathing room - it may be a better choice.

Hi everyone, As the title says, I'm looking to buy a laptop. I can compare specs myself but the stuff I'm unsure about are how different brands and models compare with things like durability, screen quality, etc. My max budget is around $1000 (CDN) Things I'm looking for: - Watching HD movies...

Help choose a New HDTV for my dad

The tv's you have are all fine, as long as it's 1080p and LED back lit and a reputable brand. Although certain makes like the sharp aquos have particularly clear displays. It's the sound system I would put a little more into. Pioneer has some very well reviewed surround systems for a reasonable...

My brand new dvd won't play

I would hazard to guess your new DVD is not a legitimate copy. If it is, most stores allow you to return an opened DVD for another copy of the exact same DVD. PC's are usually more tolerant of unusual media formats and disc burn errors.

    The best overall system monitor?

I've read about and tried out a lot of different applications for keeping track of what my hardware is doing, but I haven't been able to find one good program I like that meets all of my needs in one. Here is what I am I after: A program that minimizes to the taskbar, uses minimal resources and...
