It only started to do this AFTER a lot of windows updates, I'd just installed windows 7 and it was fine up to that point, but after doing 100+ updates i started to have this problem, so I'm assuming there's a option in windows 7 somewhere to help this problem.

Basically I have a laptop with a smashed screen, connected to a tv via HDMI. Everything is fine when the ld is closed but as soon as I open the lid (to use the keyboard) the resolution changes to the altptop screen's resolution and changes to dupulicate the displays...instead os just displaying...
