    Well in that case, it's an external battery. I didn't unplug anything from the motherboard nor did I notice see anything unplugged.

    By internal battery so you mean it doesn't just slip out? I opened it and looked but doesn't find any loose connections.

    MERGED QUESTION Question from alex_357 : "Dropped laptop. Now it doesn't detect the battery." I opened up the back to check for a loose connection but didn't notice anything wrong. Dropped 3-4 feet off of bed onto carpeted floor. Any guesses appreciated. -Brock.

    So I <removed> up and knocked my laptop off of my bed (only like 3 feet mind you,) but now it won't work unless I plug it in. Power settings says that there's no battery recognized. Any idea? Could be a broken power pin or something (I haven't found one though.) ~Thanks <watch the language>
