    New Laptop - "check media fail" and then "No bootable devices"

    SOLVED!!!!! I had same issue. I took the middle panel off the back and found drive had slid to the side and became disconnected. Slid it back and its fixed. Toshiba should have splurged on a couple more screws to hold it in place.
