Thank you so much for your help. I've already tried taking out the battery and SIM with no luck so maybe the only option is the hard reset. Thanks again.

My daughters pop 4 had a message saying storage space running out. She tried to login to her phone to free up some space but cannot get the keyboard to show at password prompt. Have rebooted phone several times - removed battery etc - and yet still no keyboard comes up at password prompt so...
