Yeah i've had that experience too. a friend of mine had a win8 laptop and he wanted win7 and i had a lot of problems going back to 7 from 8. but i think you are right, from 7 to 8.1 is going to be fine.

yeah i removed linux, i was just trying to see if it will work. i too think that win 8.1 is better thatn 7 now, depending on the hardware you have. There are some computers that dont accept win8 or 8.1, i had another laptop that was bought with win7, hp pavilion, and when i tried installing...

Thank u darkbreeze, i will try that and let you know. I haven't tried installing windows 8 becase the laptop was bought with windows 7 and i wanted to install 7 again but i will try. i think it will work with 8 because i tried installing linux (ubuntu) and it worked fine.

Hi darkbreeze, thanx for replying. No i installed a new hard drive and im trying to install windows on that but when i try to install windows, that 100MB that windows needs and reserves on the drive as a new partition, goes to that 16GB drive and then it cant run windows

hi guys, i have a samsung NP530U4BL and the hard drive stopped working after being dropped, so i have to replace it. i installed the new drive but that express cache 16GB it has, doesn't let me install windows on the drive. any of you had the same problem/found a solution?
