    Seemingly unsolvable Macbook wifi issue

Good thread about similar problems. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2196802?start=240&tstart=0 One poster bought a $9 usb wifi and never looked back, another changed from channel 6 to 11 and has had fewer problems.

    Seemingly unsolvable Macbook wifi issue

There could be a phone (cordless), microwave oven, car alarm, or other access-point that hops around channels and cuts into your channel. Wifi routers work on a carrier frequency (2.4Ghz / 5.8ghz) and channels within that frequency (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels) There...

Choosing a laptop for my sister

I was faced with a similar issue (my cousin went off to university and needed a new laptop). Personally, I think having next-business-day warranty is pretty important. Models like the HP Probook & Dell Latitude usually include 1 year next business-day, are tougher, and have a higer build...

MSI GT70 GPU jumps in temp when power cable connected?

You laptop probably has two different power / performance profiles, one for on-battery, another for when plugged in. Sometimes laptops will clock down CPUs / bus when on battery to run longer. Even if the GPU doesn't know if it's running on AC or not if the CPU heats up the whole system will...

    Good Music Headphones

I forgot to mention to check how they sound. Bring along a selection of music, especially something with a voice only (Suzanne Vega - Toms Diner for example) and listen to the differences. Beats are nice sounding but they use an amplifier / EQ to boost certain frequencies (THUMP THUMP), you...

Speakers Humming when my PC is turned on

You can try the isolator. I linked the thread because you *could* call Corsair and see if they will RMA it (replace it) for you. Buy the isolator from a store that will allow returns (if it doesn't work, you can return it).

Speakers Humming when my PC is turned on

If you are disable ALL the sound/inputs from the sound card control panel and it still makes that sound I would think it's the PSU. Let me guess, when you unplug the input (headphone jack) the sound goes away? Lastly....drum roll...there may be help available from Corsair...

Speakers Humming when my PC is turned on

If the hum sounds like 60hz (search for 60hz hum online) then there is a problem with a ground loop (bad PSU design / open ground). You can get a small cable that has an isolation transformer for about $10 to fix it: http://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI-1-3-5-3-5-mm-Isolator/dp/B001EAQTRI Radio...
