It's got a dead A-board. Get that replaced if it's under warranty.

No need to remove your account just make sure the contacts are not synced. Also try to update the firmware.

May be it's got dead battery. Get a new battery and see if that works.

Don't sync the contacts with any online apps automatically. It should be manual.

AT&T Blackberry Bold 9700 works on HSPA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz. T-Mobile has recently acquired 1900 MHz spectrum for 3G and 4G and thus they've iPhone now. You can buy the phone and unlock and use it on T-Mobile with 3G service. But you'll also need Blackberry Plan for the 3G to work.

You can check TracFone / StraightTalk / SimpleMobile / Virgin which provides cheap plans and services. You can also check SafeLink if he's on budget.

I would suggest you to go for HTC One if performance matters.

Turn off Facebook contacts sync or something like that and you might now have that problem. And report back.

I don't think we can help. Call your carrier and report the IMEI stolen. File a complain with cops too.

The size of the SIM is 128 KB if it's a 3G SIM and can hold 250 contacts only. I don't think it will hold any voice recording. You can record a voice, may be for few seconds, turn down the bitrate so it comes below 128 KB and try to put it in your SIM. Or may be I'm talking trash :P

Report the phone lost to the cops. Call your carrier and report the IMEI of your phone as stolen and ask them to red flag that IMEI. If you're lucky, you might get it back although it's just luck.
