It was bought less than a month ago, and presumably has all the the updates to 8.1, including the 8.1.1 - MS-Update is set to Automatic. But the user is loathe to spend another $80 on a DIMM that may not improve the speed much. Not sure if the disk is a 5400RPM or an SDD. I'll have to check...
