I guess yes. Companies which give sli as a default option provide great cooling options as well. Plus you can customize at places like xoticpc for better cooling. As for the performance, yes. The framerates nearly double up. it should be worth the money.

No way over 1080p @mapesdhs. Infact if things don't seem to work out, I can prefer downscaling to 720p in future for better performance at high settings

Damn that's the 6C 4960X. Can't really afford it. My max is gt80 titan with 4980hq.

Hey guys. Considering that I can't wait for Pascal microarchitecture, I'm gonna go for GT80 titan with 980m sli. How long do you guys think it would last me maxing out most games to high/ultra? (I can downscale from 1080p to 720p for that)

Q3'16 is too long to wait for me. I guess that sums up 980m sli as the notebook king for about 2 years :) I will just wait for sager, msi or origin to come up with a notebook holding 980m sli and welcoming of a 5th gen i7 which shouldn't take too long I guess.

Np9377s is available with 980m sli and cheapest as far as I know (you can manage it at around $3k with i7 4910hq) I guess sli is needed only if you do 4k gaming or do not wish to upgrade for atleast 3 4 years. A 980m sli can outclass any single desktop gpu like 980 and titan z go with your...
