    monitor with HDMI link doesn't recognise laptop

    I only have DP or USB port on my laptop but the monitor says nothing detected and keeps going to sleep. A colleague has DVID ports on laptop and they work OK, but I don't have DVID ports so have to use DP can anyone help me get this working...? Thanks
