I currently have a 1tb m2 ssd that came with the machine. System says it is a WD, but not a WD Black. The two different 4tb makes/models have indeed been different, and I have tried them both in both slots. I also tried accessing the Samsing with an external adapter and got the same results...

That gives more context, thank you. I do not have any 2tb m2s laying around to test this out, but every source I have checked confirmed the Asus Tuf fx507 mobo should accept up to 4tb drives.
