Windows 8 uses a different scale to windows 7. The windows 8 scale goes higher, meaning if you had the exact same system, your score on windows 8 would be lower than it would on windows 7. Nothing is wrong, that's just the way they do it now.

I don't really get what you're asking. You have a 4.5 score because that's the value given by Microsoft to whatever your score was on their benchmark test. If you're asking because you think that's low, then I'd say that's about right as the 8670m isn't that good.

The way I see it is good quality sound editing scales down on lesser systems, but bad quality editing doesn't scale up. So I'd edit on the highest quality setup I could find, that way it'll sound the best it possibly could on all systems.

If you're editing video, I assume you'll be editing sound too? I find a good quality pair of headphones is much better for that sort of work. Sennheiser make fantastic headphones.
