    Try pressing Function -> F7. On some laptops now, you have to manually turn on dual monitor support.

    Do you mean the cable will not plug into the laptop. It sould be able to. Try doing so with the security screws fully unextended.

    Off of the driver CD, install ONLY the LAN drivers. Then, off of your motherboard manufacturer's website, download the other drivers.

    What do you mean "tablet-style"? If you mean that the screen rotates, that can be fixed by Ctrl - Up Arrow.
