ive got 4 inputs total, now one is for audio ARC. Id like to have another open hdmi input rather than just using it for audio

So i lose that HDMI-ARC input, correct? Maybe just using optical would be better, id still get the CEC control either way right?

I have my sound bar hooked up via HDMI-ARC, but dont understand the advantage of having HDMI-input into the soundbar. Is it so I can still use the HDMI-ARC input on the tv as a video source? I try and connect my cable box to it but dosnt seem to work.
