And the fan does seem to be working fine.. After the dell technician replaced the heatsink and fan it worked really good for awhile.. I tried to pay attention but I was really busy with college work.. He might of applied a thermal paste when replacing the parts?

Hmm.. I'll check on the BIOS thing.. (unfortunately? lol) in this situation I don't want to void the warranty cause I still have 2-3 years left on it.. Is this something they'll do for me so it doens't get voided?

Hey everyone, I've had my Inspiron 1420 laptop going on 3 years now and I've begun to notice that it runs horribly hot. Last year it ran around 80-90 degrees before I bought a cooling pad for it and decided to call dell and have them replace the heatsink and fan. Its been about 6 months later...
