I would recommend headphones over headsets. Headsets are stupid expensive just because they have a crappy mic attached to them. From my experience, the audio technica ad700s have the best sound for directional audio, hearing player's footsteps, where gunshots come from, etc...

If you want a headset and not headphones/mic separate, the best choice in that price range is sennheiser. Sennheiser makes amazing headphones and headsets. Get the Pc350 headset, not the game zero because the game zero is the exact same thing as the pc350 but it's white and costs 70 dollars more.
