8th gen i7 is better than it's previous generation as it has 6cores and 12 threads. So i7-8750h will good as video editing and other stuffs. Even though this 1060 is max-q it will outrun both 1050s at gaming. So it is up to you to choose. What made them say 1050 has shorter life span?
