Microsoft Urges Users to Use Weak Passwords

Weak pass"words" are relative. The correct horse battery staple example is best for passphrase strength. I would consider it simple, but it is also hard to guess (well not THAT one specifically anymore). BEGIN rant { Sites that require alpha-numeric symbol punctuation space hyphen crypto...

April Windows 7 Patch Needed to Get June IE Updates

Errr...they've had update prerequisites like this for quite a while, particularly with .NET updates. And, the reason behind these IE11 update issues is the fact that they're actually adding features to IE11 in these updates as opposed to simply fixing problems and patching security flaws. Not...

Xpocalypse Not: Microsoft May Support Windows XP in China Past April 8

Agreed. This doesn't make much sense. The whole point of ending support is to cut costs on supporting a 13 year old operating system.

    HELP - Windows XP

What brand/model laptop is it? Many modern laptops don't have XP driver support anymore. Check your laptop manufacturer's support website to see if XP drivers are available and if so, download them to a USB drive or burn them to CD and you can install them that way.

Grum, The Third Largest Spam Botnet, Finally KO'd

mayne92"Keep on dreaming of a junk-free inbox"Personally I already have a junk-free inbox, it's called Gmail. Yeah Postini is great but like the other guys said, in businesses it's different. Some on our management receive over 100 spam a day, most caught in the filter but almost always some...

Yahoo Confirms Hack Resulting in Discolsure of Over 400,000 User names and Passw

Samsung Announces Pricey 75-inch Smart TV

DroKingI see an mitsubshi's 75 inch tv for 3k via amazon... so why 17.5k for this? >_ Cause the Mitsubishi is a DLP TV. I picked up their 60" 1080p for about $800 a while back and it's great, but not really the same as an OLED.

Square Enix Makes Final Fantasy 7 PC Re-release Official

TomfreakI tot was on PC long ago? why again? Because the old version wouldn't work on any Windows version that wasn't Windows 9x based (although unofficial patches would allow it to work with Windows 2000 and XP in some cases). I own the original PC release and even getting it to run on...
