I don't think you'd get enough to justify selling it. You would probably be better to keep the laptop and save a bit more for your PC. That way you also have the laptop for if anything goes wrong with the desktop.

The i7 will perform better in games like BF4, as well as if you are multitasking. The i5 will give about half the performance of the i7. So if you can afford the i7 version, get it, but if not, you will still be able to run most things fine.
