This Chrome extension saves downloads directly to Google Drive — I really wish I'd found it sooner

If you use a Chromebook, ChromeOS enables you to select a path on your gDrive (and probably any other mounted Cloud drive). This Google-developed extension works on Chromebooks but is harder to use than the default ChromeOS interface. So, it might be worth mentioning that the extension is, in...

News Lenovo could be trying to kill the Chromebook with its own new Android OS

I've also read that Windows 12 is supposed to be a Chromebook killer, as was MS Surface. Sounds like Chromebook killers are lining up in droves. As PWAs become more prevalent, any device running any OS will be a credible "Chromebook Killer". Even MacBooks and iPads.

News Touchscreen MacBook Pro just got tipped for 2025 — take my money, Apple

So, Apple is racing to develop 2-in-1 laptops that can interact with phone/tablet apps by using either a mouse or a touchscreen. No doubt such an upgrade will be very costly. Though that would admittedly be an incredible technological feat. I've only been able to boot my $300 Chromebook in about...

I used ChromeOS exclusively for two weeks — here's how that went

Yep, although it's clearly unintentional, nearly the entire review is moot and invalid. Apples and oranges both come from fruit trees, but they're not interchangeable.

News I wanted a new Android tablet — but I got this Chromebook tablet instead

Admittedly, even the best Android tablets aren't even in the same league as any iPad. So it's good to see ChromeOS becoming adept as a tablet OS. I expect my next tablet to be a Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3. Can't beat the versatility and price combo.

News Forget Chromebooks — this new Windows 10 PC is just $150

No, it's just a keyboard with a bare-bones chip. Just like any keyboard, it's useless until you connect a monitor. If this has a market, it would be to compete with Chromeboxes, which are far more capable. Junior wouldn't be caught dead with this thing.

News Forget Chromebooks — this new Windows 10 PC is just $150

Wow! A $150 keyboard. Send Junior off to school proudly packing that thing in his satchel. Not.

The one hidden Chromecast with Google TV feature I wish I knew earlier

The author's approach doesn't make any sense at all. Google TV has a "Your Apps" row just under the top row. The order of the apps on that row can be easily rearranged. That's what everyone else does. This is a very good lesson on how using Apple products will severely corrupt and cripple your...

News Microsoft Edge is getting a killer feature Chrome can’t match

Microsoft may find that alienating advertisers could cut both ways. I hate all the nonstop ads with a passion. But somehow I suspect that making it easier to block them won't work in the favor of a behemoth target like Microsoft. The people who make it possible for those ads to be placed on...

News Chromebooks getting big upgrade to catch up to MacBooks and PCs

❝Russell writes, 'Teachers have long recorded lessons to help students do homework and study for tests, but in the past year it’s become downright critical for virtual learning. Which is why we’ve built a screen recording tool right into Chrome OS that is coming in the latest Chromebook update...

News Chromebooks just got a killer upgrade to take on Windows laptops

Using a fingerprint (or a PIN, if you don't have a premium Chromebook) to log onto enabled Websites will be especially convenient for security. I've done this on my Android phone, which already has this capability. I'm also looking forward to test driving the improvements to virtual desks.
