    Can I get 5.1 sound from my Lap top?

    I have a IBM Think pad with just 2 imputs for a speakers and a Creative 5.1 sound system for PC's that has 3 connectors for the PC. The sound card is a 'Real Tek' HD, it does not give me the option of using anything but analog/stereo but the sub-woofer works with the 2 speakers. Any suggestions.

    Can I use the sub of 2.1 pc system to old stereo speakers?

    I have the same issue. I have a Creative 7.1 PC speakers with sub-woofer and tiny speakers. I wish to attach JVC 60w speakers to the powered sub-woofer for better sound. Do i just splice the fixed wire of the bookshelf JVC speakers to one of the bullet style input speaker plugs in the sub-woofer?
