Best budget laptop/ultrabook for engineering student?

best value is generally any 15.6" model laptop as you can get a HUGE amount in specifications for a low price point, though portability isn't the best. I've purchased 2 of the Lenovo budget line PCs and both people who are using them give it thumbs up for build quality and usability.

What Net Neutrality's Approval Will Mean For You

what is this conservative shrill post hour? If you haven't taken notice, without FCC regulation, so far VZ, Comcast, TimeWarner and AT&T all have imposed caps, used throttling, raised rates and STILL refuse to expand and upgrade their back-end infrastructure in order to maximize profits. AT&T...

T-Mobile Score Lets Prepaid Customers Nab Phone Deals

i think you guys are blowing this out of proportion. they are showing sample savings on current, still, fast phones. the concept is you sign up for it, and while you wont save right away, next year you might see $100-150 off whatever the current phone will be then... Nvidia Shield Tablet Review Roundup: Worth the Hype?

I really want to like this more. 8" screen, true HD display, K1 chip, looks sexy..then my joy is dampened by needing to throw another $100 of accessories on top of it to really make it usable, and the somewhat abbreviated battery life. maybe making the cover standard with purchase could i...

Doom Returns to its Hellish Roots at Quakecon 2014

I don't believe that this DOOM will lack any serious back-end code from Carmack though. just because he left might have been him wanting to directly tie the code for this game and the Rift from the very very core to the end, and Zenimax tards won't let him do his thing. they said "NO" when he...

Looking for a low budget laptop or desktop to run elder scrolls online

what's your major online/electronics retailer in the UK? I would probably look up a GTX 750Ti, deduct the cost of one from your budget, and look up a pre-built desktop that fits within that remainder. if you need to split decisions on one of more models, I'd look for at least 8GB of ram and a...

Critical Internet Explorer Flaw Patched, Even for XP

i think MS caved and pushed this to XP users because not only are there several major entities privately paying MS to support XP, but such a significant user base still uses the OS with no plans to move away it would be irresponsible of them to NOT patch that last 20% of the world's windows...

Hulu to Go Free on Mobile (Sort Of)

Hulu put commercials back in on TV content to maintain $8/mo service. movies and the kids area are totally commercial free. That being said, there's enough content that i like and want on Hulu that I'd be willing to pay $12 or even $15/mo if they would just make the commercials go the hell away...

    Amazon Fire TV Review

I thought this would be pretty interesting to play content with, but really, the organization of the software is a bit meh, and my biggest question isn't even addressed. how well/high quality does it appear to play and hold content? my Smart TV's Netflix app constantly changes the streaming...
