Okay I figured it out. I took out the ram and then put them in again and that worked.

I have an Asus UX32VD. Yesterday I upgraded the ram - taking out one of the two 2 GB blocks and replacing it with an 8 GB block (Kingston) and it worked just fine Windows was showing I had 10 GB ram. But today when I tried turning on the computer it just showed a black screen - the power is on...
