I havent used my laptop battery for 1 year now since the battery stops to charge long time ago i just plugged it in now and the battery works and charges should i worried?

i found that on the lower right part of my laptop generates the most heat i dont what's in there. the laptop fan aims at the center of the laptop everytime i surf the net or watch videos( 240p - 360p only) my temp reaches 65-77 degrees should i change my current cooler? specs sony vaio laptop...
