That Lenovo Flex isn't a very good option, IMO. It's overpriced for what it is. You don't get a lot out of it. If you're just watching movies and streaming, you can go a lot cheaper. Are you looking for a 15.6" laptop? Does it need to be a convertible?

Take a look at this list to see a range of options. You can do a lot better than that HP. The F555LA is sub$-400 and at least has a 1920x1080 display. However, if you can boost your budget up to $479, the Acer Aspire E15 E5-574G would give you a 1080p display and Nvidia GT 940M dedicated...

It needs to have an active digitizer? Is that what you mean by drawing pad? You could get a Wacom tablet on the side of any machine to do the drawing if that would work for you. That would open up a significant amount of possibilities.

I'd be hesitant to take the Lenovo over the Asus in any scenario. The Y50's had quite a few problems including hinges locking up and breaking. The Asus is also a considerably newer model. I wasn't aware that the Y50 was still an option since the launch of the Y700 line.

Any laptop can play movies and browse. It's the display quality, durability, battery life, and size that will dictate a good suggestion. What size of laptop are you looking for?

I'd try to go for something with an IPS display (for Photoshop work), and ideally more than a ULV processor for CAD. Options including those features may be a bit out of your price range in your market, though. The Z40 and Z50 are technically speaking the same laptop with a range of options...

The GS60 is a highly portable 4.3lb laptop with a high quality display (IPS-like) and the GE62 is a bulkier machine with a TN panel. In general, the GS60 is a much nicer machine. It doesn't have as good of battery life, but it's so incredibly portable and the display quality has been fantastic...

Keep in mind you won't likely be gaming in 4k resolution. It doesn't provide much benefit and can possibly introduce scaling issues.
