There are no unknown devices. Also, I tried and my iPod still connects fine with iTunes. I don't know if that means anything.

Yes, but shouldn't the iPhone charge when it's connected to the computer? Mine doesn't. And I tried 2 different cords so I don't think it's that.

I just got a new iPhone 4S and it doesn't seem to connect when I plug it in to my laptop. The laptop makes a noise like it recognizes that something connected to the USB port, but the iPhone does not show up in My Computer or iTunes. The iPhone does not seem to register that it's connected either.
