which of these laptops is the better performer for 3D applications ?

Hi Vysakh, They dont add up, they can only work individually, the cpu chip gpu works when you are not pushing display to the max, it is to save battery, heat and noise on a laptop. Any questions, happy to help. D

Good Centre speaker in mid-budget range

Thanks Smurf for the advice, will check out those brands. Cheers Rex for the advice on impedence, am reading it now. I think I've decided to up the budget to a AVR-1912 as I've read the amp components/power supplies are a cut above the 309 and 1312/1612. The NR508/509 was a close second but a...

Good Centre speaker in mid-budget range

Hey guys, Has anyone got recommendations for a decent centre speaker for a budget to mid-range system. My L/R are bookshelves are of pretty good quality, an Australian manufacturer named Krix that run at 6 ohms 100W max at 88dB for 2.83V. I got given the bookshelves so I didn't even know the...

The reason i call Apple fans iSheeps is because they are plain ignorant. They belive...

Static, reverbration from ceiling mounted speakers

Your problem is the connection via Phono. The Phono input (I imagine a dual RCA) is very very sensitive, I understand due to the signal from a turntable requiring such. Any other device (VCR/DVD etc) is different. I don't know the exact electronics behind it but have experienced it many times...

    Audio Receiver suggestions?

damn, I wish I lived in the US in terms of prices. Even with the dollar virtually the same you can get a Onkyo tx-sr309 for as low as $250. Cheapest here I can find is around $450. Apols. (and damn I didn't realise it cost $200 to ship 10kgs to Australia.... we get ripped off over here). Good...

    Audio Receiver suggestions?

Not sure what you will get via wireless iPhone playback for that money, if anything, sorry. The Denon (H/K - same producer) AVR-1912 has something called Airplay, and its little brother the 1612 might also, but they are above your budget. @ssddx is totally correct in that Onkyo do a good...

How to know positive and negative in speaker wire

In Australia anything with the raised ribs running down them, or a stripe is negative. Just make sure you hook up the same at BOTH ends. Figure 8 speaker cable, has the same copper content both sides.
