Thanks for all the replies guys. I realized that Avast had some resource hogging settings that i just had to turn off. its working great now.

So i have been trying to make my pc as fast as possible lately and i've noticed windows defender taking up about 20% of my cpu resources. I thought this was insane so i switched to Avast and it used pretty much the same amount. Are there any other options that wont hog so much resources?

an app called "Shazam" will listen to a song and tell you what it is called. I havent tried it but ive heard it works great.

Windows defender is good enough. Thats what i use and it has stopped multiple trojans from silly friends linking me stuff.

So i have heard of jailbreaking apple products for years but i never gave it a try. I want to give it a try now but it seems to have devolved into a scam with a bunch of videos saying "Jailbreak no computer required!" Then it leads you to a page on your phone where you have to download an app...

So i have seen posts and articles about bitcoin mining and i am curious. How does it work? Like, what are the computers actually doing to earn money? Makes no sense to me. Can someone explain? :D

Windows comes with a antivirus that has actually been extremely effective and stopped a couple trojans on my system. If you already have something on your system then i recommend doing a full scan with Malwarebytes to get rid of it and then just using windows defender.
