Question Can't access boot/BIOS menu onToshiba Satellite P875-S7200

While having a coffee, I suddenly remembered that I had a USB to SATA cable. Installed Ubuntu to the SSD via that. Tossed the SSD into the laptop and voila, the missus has a free laptop for emails and light surfing. Thanks for all the suggestions. Have a great weekend!

Question Can't access boot/BIOS menu onToshiba Satellite P875-S7200

Here's an update. I've built PCs before, so at this point I just don't want this Toshiba to beat me. 1) No drive installed at all: Does not go automatically into BIOS. Power off and on. F2 does not work. Power off/on. Neither does F12, ESC, or DEL. Toshiba tries to do a PXE-MOF Ethernet boot...

Question Can't access boot/BIOS menu onToshiba Satellite P875-S7200

I'll give it a try after the Celtics/Warriors game. :-) Thanks. Update: F2 and F12 aren't doing it. You think the BIOS manufacturers would settle on a standard. "I see why you crashed, on Ford's the brakes on the right, gas on the left."

Question Can't access boot/BIOS menu onToshiba Satellite P875-S7200

Yeah, I know the rep. But the price was free, and she just wanted something quick to write on. Speaking of the F keys, it's one of those keyboards where there's the Fn key. Do you need to hit that and F2 during boot, or is the Fn key usually only needed when you're in Windows?

Hi everyone, The missus was recently given an old Toshiba Satellite P875-S7200. When you turn it on, the computer goes automatically to the Windows repairing startup screen. No Toshiba splash screen. No indication of what key to hit to enter BIOS, so that I can boot from USB and do a clean...

RCA Tablet exhibiting some weird behaviour after not booting

Thanks. I did d a factory reset/data wipe and it booted back to the recovery screen. Contacted RCA support with a detailed step by step email. Their response was to tell me that I should try a factory reset, despite the fact that I told them I had already tried that TWICE. I love when support...

RCA Tablet exhibiting some weird behaviour after not booting

The missus has an RCA tablet that she plays a few games on. Had it for a couple of years. If I remember correctly it's orphaned at Android 5. Yesterday, it froze, so she forced it off by holding the power button for a while. She was unable to power it on. I said i'd take a look and took it to...
