I'm not sure what "package" is but that is the only thing I see at 90c. The motherboards thermal sensor reads 40c, which I would think would be ALOT higher if the cpu was actually approaching 100c.. Could just be a bad sensor.

It should. The rings seperate the connectors for each wire in the cable, so if it has less of the dividing rings it has less connectors. The number of rings usually, if not always, matches the number of connectors. One ring on the connector for a mic, 2 rings on the connector for stereo...

You probably bought the wrong adapter. You know the little black rings on the 3.5mm plugs? The male component of the adapter should have 3 of them, instead of the 2 you see on the plug for your headsets speakers.

If they could somehow wrestle DirectX from Microsoft's greedy paws and implement it, then yes. But as it is, 90%+ of my steam games WILL NOT WORK on this OS. I will not use an OS that will not play ALL of my games. Especially one where a good 100+ games that I own will not run.
