Thank you, I've done that too, and it doesn't work. I'm able to see about two inches of my screen on the right hand side and so when I press FN, f8, I see that something pops up I'm just not able to see what it is or what to do or even how to toggle between whatever

I have an Asus laptop. I broke the screen and now I'm trying to connect it to my lg monitor in which I'm having a difficult time. For one, I can't see anything on the screen. So when I press the Windows key and the letter P it gives me the option to do something but I can't see what it gives me...
