For programming the CPU is secondary unless you'll be spending a lot of time compiling...any i7 should be more than enough. I'd be more concerned with memory size and having a fast SSD drive for storage. Something like this but with an SSD hard drive should be plenty to get started...

You will need to select the new SSD drive on the boot menu in the BIOS so it knows which drive to boot from. If that doesn't work then read through this link and follow the instructions to rebuild the boot menu on the new disk...

I don't think so...it may be possible to isolate the TV sound to a specific audio device like a USB audio card while having your games audio sent through just the motherboards audio hardware. I have never run into this so I am just guessing. If there are separate audio software volume controls...

As USAFRet suggested ideally you want to create the Kasp rescue disk from a clean computer. Also you didnt say if youre on a laptop or desktop...if a laptop id suggest pulling the battery before inserting the rescue disk...if on a desktop unplug the computer from the wall socket for a min or so...

@octacon - thats what the console sales people want you to believe...the reality is much different. Steam sells more games for PC's than all consoles combined...and it's all over the news how consol sales have plummeted since 2007...2012 alone was a 20% drop...
